Today was a productive Sunday. We had our very first #APALivecast 🎙️🎧 one of the many series that we'll be having to support our local producers of plant aromatic products.

Today we featured Sir Arwin of @earealagrofarm. A local producer of Ylang Ylang hydrosol and essential oils way up north in San Luis, Aurora.

Wow it's been raining endlessly for the past 5 day

Wow it's been raining endlessly for the past 5 days (yes I've been counting!). And while the weather may pull us back to bed more easily I haven't had a good restful sleep in the last 14 days until last night.

I guess attending @aromatherapy_ph's meditation class really helped me. 😊 Last night, I finally had my full, uninterrupted 6-hr sleep.

I'm tired of the gloomy days now and I thought of finally trying out these two new oils from @hinokilab_ph that were sent for me to try--I needed that fresh coniferous ambiance so badly. 🌲🌲🌲

Next to citrus oils, I'm a conifers type of gal. I love my hinoki, my Cypress, my spruce.

Ylang ylang oil is an essential oil distilled from the fully open flowers of the ylang ylang tree, Cananga odorata. The oil is used in high quality (haute gamme) perfumery.

My coffee consumption is highly seasonal ☕. Is it pouring in your side of the globe? ☔ Waking up to rainy mornings make me want to give myself a good cup of coffee. I actually love the entire process of making my own cup. I love smelling the whole beans upon opening the packet. I love taking another sniff after I've hand-ground my coffee. And another smell-check while brewing it.

I remember my sister poking fun at me as she watches me make my coffee--that I would've inhaled all the aromatics by the time I serve the cup of coffee with all my stop-and-smell moments.

You see, I'm very much driven by my sense of smell. Ever since I was young, I've always been a sɴɪғғᴇʀ so being an Aromatherapist growing up is something I've never thought of but it sure made so much sense.👃🏻

Today, I'm using my #Starbucksphin as my #Kalita155 dripper. I love the clarity of a paper-filtered coffee. And in here I'm using beans from @candidcoffeeph Costa Rica Tarrazu Don Mayo Bellavista. ☕

Yesterday I was working on something new for Catic

Yesterday I was working on something new for Caticorn Pets (@𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙥𝙚𝙩𝙨). I've had my Cricut for years now and was able to upgrade it to Maker even... But I never had the time to sit down on it and really use it for anything until yesterday. Haha 😅

As I pull away from doing Zoom classes in the next coming months, I'm here to explore new terrains again--which has always been exciting for me and I hope it excites you, too. This definitely means we'll have more 𝙉𝙀𝙒 𝙎𝙏𝙐𝙁𝙁 coming in soon. 😍😍😍

In today's video, let's talk about The Science of Olfactory Training.

The idea started with the German psychologist Thomas Hummel, who, in 2009, developed a technique in which patients inhale four essential oils (rose, lemon, clove, and eucalyptus), chosen to represent four odor categories (flowery, fruity, spicy, and resinous), for 10 seconds twice daily for 12 weeks to help rebuild their sense of smell.

This has been practical and useful in today's times as people may experience anosmia (loss of sense of smell) post Covid19 infection. The said therapy, smell training, is easy to do and is highly effective for recovery.
