Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel as makeup primer

I never really knew how primers can be so important in doing makeup. In college, I hated using eyeshadows because I find them clumping up my monolid crease at the end of the day–and that just ain’t a pretty sight. Not until I learned the use of primers, I had to suffer this obnoxiously lined eyes because of that.

Through the course of our research about makeup and mineral makeup, we stumbled a lot of articles raving about Monistat’s Anti-Chafing Gel as a good alternative on Smashbox’s Primer and even Urban Decay Primer Potion. This piqued my interest in getting hold of the product.

Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel goes about USD 3.00 USD-4.00 online. It’s really cheap considering the price and size of UDPP or Smashbox–yet they say Monistat works as well as the latter brands.

I have been using Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel for a week now and I really like the feeling upon application. It feels so smooth on the skin. Be sure to apply only a little amount for the whole face. Too much can make your makeup flaky or beady. What I do is I apply my Aveeno SPF 100 Facial Sunblock first, then top it with Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel, then I apply whatever makeup I want. I don’t really use foundations and facial powders so I go straight with my eye makeup.

This product is scentless. Upon application, you can notice that your face will be instantly mattified. The gel dries like a powder, so it feels amazingly soft and smooth. It actually provides a great makeup base. I can’t really say if this has kept my facial oils at bay since I have a combination skin and my T-zone is more active than the rest of my face. BUT, this does its job well in keeping your makeup in place throughout the day.

Will I buy again? OF COURSE! For only about Php320.00, you get to have an amazing primer. Why don’t you try to get hold of a tube and let me know how it work for you? ๐Ÿ™‚
