I've finally posted my vlog on the waterfall hike my friends and I did last weekend. As first-timers, we came back to the city on a high despite the challenging trek we had going to Tungtong falls.

I used to swear off hiking and trekking. I'd rather go under the water than spend time climbing the mountains and rocks.

But, lately, I've been itching to try something new... And I really wanted to do some forest bathing.

So, in the spirit of pushing boundaries, this year I set my mind to try out hiking and I really wanted to visit a nearby falls.

So glad to be able to do both today when we visited Brgy. Cuyambay in Tanay, Rizal and hiked to Tungtong Falls.

I came upon this quote today and I very much resonate with it.

My aromatherapy journey, especially over the past year, has been nothing short of amazing—the new communities I've been introduced to, the new friendships that have blossomed, the new opportunities that I embraced... 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘸𝘦. 💫

I've always believed in luck. One of my bosses in the corporate world used to tell me that success is 99% hardwork and 1% luck—

There are those who'd spend longer hours than the rest at work and still feel unaccomplished or undervalued... AND THEN there are those who, by virtue of being at the right time and place—and, I guess, by sheer 𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬—would land themselves their dream job! Everything we do is a balancing act between hard work, timing, AND luck.

I don't rest in my laurels thinking I'm lucky. Being a lucky person is more of a mindset. Believing in luck drives me to stay optimistic and persistent in achieving success. It makes me believe that I can do anything that I put my heart into. 💪🏻💖

Oh, and lucky people don't get distracted by the naysayers, doubters, or haters. You can take a jab at me all you want but I will never allow the negativity to enter my mind. Lucky people would shrug off the critics and never engage in gossip. We'd stay focused on the goal and keep walking forward. 💃🏻

So, cheers to us. Let's just keep on keeping on. 💋

I love the quietness of my mornings—it's when I can truly consider my day as my own. I kickstart my day by making myself a morning cup of tea (or coffee.. Or a cup of fruity yogurt) as I work on whatever I needed to accomplish for the day.

Today, I was working my way to finish this journal article about the Pili tree (Canarium ovatum) with my cat beside me as I sip this comforting cup of Sencha green tea with a few drops of my @caticorndreams 𝘏𝘶𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘉𝘰𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 flower essence.

Last night's 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙍𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 at #Botanica2022 was undoubtedly a rich discussion of different interesting points, all aimed to improve an Aromatherapist's educational experience.

Grateful to @botanicaeorc for inviting me to be a part of it. The opportunity to represent the Philippines in the panel discussion, the chance to provide a voice for novice Aromatherapists in our country, share the challenges that we have experienced, and the hope that we continue to receive support from the international aromatherapy community is truly priceless. ❤️🇵🇭

Being an aromatherapy educator has been one of the most fulfilling hats I've ever worn. 👩🏻‍🏫

I've been teaching aromatherapy since 2018 and have handled both big and small audiences, public and private functions, even in both online and offline setting. These classes have given me the opportunity to connect with people not just in the Philippines, but from all over the world. And in each class, I'm always hopeful to have inspired the students, to ignite something from within and make them want to learn more beyond just blending essential oils.

This year, I have been invited to be part of #Botanica2022 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧'𝙨 𝙍𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜.

𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖2022 is the leading international conference for clinical aromatherapy and related herbal therapeutics.

Moderated by Dr Timothy Miller, the previous meetings took place at 𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖2020 and the Essence of Clinical Aromatherapy Seminar in 2021.

Each meeting welcomes 10 different educators from all over the world to share their perspectives in improving the education standards of aromatherapists worldwide.

All delegates of 𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙖2022 are invited to join this third session which takes place at the close of the second day of conference (May 21st) at 6.16pm GMT+1--that's May 22 (Sunday), 1am PH time.

Today's guest speaker, Dr. Carmela Caballero, a Brussels-based medical advisor for international cancer research and science communicator, a surgeon, a researcher, and an advocate for transformative and collaborative cancer research, held a very informative webinar that taught us to approach each and every information we gather online with a critical mind—very useful especially to those of you who are taking your aromatherapy certification and/or are onto your case studies and final paper. 📄

Dr. Carmela Caballero (she's also @lourdesmargarita_c's sister!) helped us in understanding the different levels of evidence, understanding scientific news, and also shared with us some tips for us not to fall into the trap of misinformation in science. 👩🏻‍🏫
