Google offers FREE calls to US/Canada until end of 2010!

Awesome offering from Google! GMail now lets you call any US/Canada number (mobile or landline) for FREE until the end of the year!

For the past 2 days, I have been using Google Voice for my US calls. The connection is surprisingly better than MagicJack. For me, this is a betterย alternative for Skype and YM Voice since the call receipient does not have to be dependent on any internet connection, you can give them a ring even if they are at the mall or doing their groceries. ๐Ÿ™‚

You would have to have a Google account to use the service. Of course, since the call is dependentย on your internet connection, at a minimum,ย you would have to have aย DSL connection. I don’t think this will work nicely with those plug-in broadband connections.

The call is smooth, actually. No chapped lines. But, you would have to make sure that the page remains on your Gmail. Once you refresh the window, the line will be cut off and you would have to call again.

Start using the service now. You can see it at the bottom left part of your Gmail window. If not, you can check it out here.
