BlackBerry Curve 8520 (BB Gemini)

Since Globe’s BBSS issue has now been concluded, it’s time for me to sing my praises for my new gadget, the BlackBerry Gemini.

BB Gemini or Curve 8520 is RIM’s entry level BlackBerry phone to the market. It goes about Php16,000.00 currently and P15,000.00 for a Globe-locked version. I got mine from Globe, bundled with BlackBerry SuperSurf Service. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been using this for more than a week now and I can say that I am now a BB convert. Though I prefer typing with my Nokia E71. On the other hand, I appreciate HTC G1’s Android Market since BlackBerry AppWorld is still not available in our country.

I love the fact that I was able to set up my gmail to my BB easily. Also, with Globe’s BBSS, I can just surf away without worrying about my bill. In fact, since I got my BlackBerry, I am online almost 24/7. The down side is that BB Gemini doesn’t have a strong battery life, so I would need to charge my phone daily. Another con is that BB Curve 8520 does not have built-in camera flash, so the pictures I take are normally dark. ๐Ÿ˜

Overall, my BB Gemini serves its purpose of letting me stay online and on the go. Now that Globe has offered BBSS to Php1,200/mo. I suggest it’s time for everyone to get one ๐Ÿ™‚
