An Overnight Urban Escape in Tagaytay

If you’re not voting and you’re trying to escape the urban jungle this coming May 9, I highly suggest taking a quick trip to Tagaytay.

So my beau and I had an impromptu trip to Tagaytay recently and I thought of sharing it with you guys if the thought of having a sweet escape is dangling in your mind.

We left Manila at around 8pm. Tagaytay is just an hour or so from Manila during this time. Our first stop was at The Lake District to grab a couple of drinks… and food.

I loved their cheese sticks and their monstrous burger.

We went there on a Wednesday night so there weren’t much people. Basically we had the entire second floor to ourselves.

After dining, we checked in at Hotel Aroha, which had super affordable rates at Php1,500.00 for 12 hours.

Hotel Aroha is a no-frills hotel and is conveniently located along Sta. Rosa Road. For the price, I was impressed that the rooms are well-kept and the shower is quite spacious! Oh, and there’s also free wifi for guests.

I love that the hotel is pet-friendly. Here’s a sleeping Siamese cat right at the hotel lobby. We’re planning to bring some of our cats here next time. 🙂
