A Romantic Moroccan Kasbah Night

I had so much events attended last week at the Fort which led me to discover Kasbah Restaurant and Bar. I think it’s the first Moroccan restaurant that I have been to here in our country. Upon entering the restaurant, the smell instantly reminded me of the hotel restaurants I’ve been to in India.

We (Hazel and I) actually met the manager of Kasbah and learned that the first outlet is in Boracay. Kasbah offers authentic Moroccan/Mediterranean cuisine to Filipinos. Each menu is served with the fullness of Moroccan and Mediterranean aromatic spices.

Since I’ve never tried having shi-sha or the water bong, this is the first I got from the menu. It’s cheap at Php350.00 for a flavor so I decided to have it in watermelon. I think my friends and I spent a good two to three hours to finish this thing before we transferred to the bar table inside.

The ambiance is dark, comfy and romantic which made it to be well patronized by international guests. Kasbah is famous for their lovely cocktail drinks. Their best-seller Frozen Black Mojito, a brainchild of Kasbah’s in-house mixologist Goldy, is made from Chinese gunpowder tea, 10-year old rum, and mint leaves. The sweet exotic taste leaves you wanting to have another glass or more. Goldy told us that a lot of his regular guests would bring friends and try out this drink over and over for the night.

Oh, did you know that Kasbah was named as one of Esquire Magazine’s Top 100 Restaurants for 2013? A lot of the food from their menu has been featured in magazines already. I think their Lamb Pita Pocket is a good snack to have your drinks with. It’s made from marinated strips of lamb with a salad of tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, preserved lemon and served with spiced yoghurt sauce. This is just one of Kasbah’s gastronomical treat from their sumptuous Moroccan menu.

Be there on Sundays, as Kasbah has this Mediterranean buffet treat called Sunset Sundays. For P695++, you can feast on an exquisite Mediterranean buffet featuring signature dishes, summer plates, and exciting desserts. For P895++, you can enjoy the buffet with unlimited sangria.
